Jokker1978--The green stuff is the hay that came out of the box we got at the feed store.

gonzo&hispeeps--The little one does look just like the buff orpington cross chicks we have/had

In color anyway, his/her head and beak are a different proportion.

txchickie--I was surprised!

I am having a hard time say "no" as well. The kids and I go back and forth practicly talking each other into braving dad wrath until we are all convinced that "he won't notice one or two more..."

gocrow-- Teehee!!! My 8-yr-old couldn't wait to tell dad when he called from work. Then I had to brave the 'wrath' on the phone. Fortunately he agreed we could use a couple more pullets and seemed sympathetic to the kids "talking me into" the tiny one. That didn't stop him from practically yelling "where are we going to put them!"

It's not that we have that many birds it's just that we have different ages that can't go together yet plus a wounded chicken so it's a bit of juggling to fit everbody that needs to go indoors.

danielbrown-- a quail chick? Do you think the hatchery would have sent them with the chicks by mistake?

Mine are all gung-ho to "keep the secret" ( no lying we just don't say anything ) and then as soon as dad is around or we are back from the feed/chick store they spill the beans. And, I, being the "responsible adult" get to hear it.

But, I expect this now - and his "wrath" isn't really all that wrathful. In my defense I try NOT to look, and I did say "no" the other day...... Maybe my addiction is loosing it's hold on me or I am getting a boost of willpower. I still want them all though.....

Maybe something small, but not a Serama.
You cannot get them from Hatcheries, only reputable breeders!
