I sold my first eggs!

Congrats on your first egg sale. My wife sells eggs at work so we eat all the small and funny shaped eggs.

Well I was going to charge $2 but when I said that before the hens were laying somebody looked at me like I was crazy! $1.50 is less then you buy store bought eggs for but for now it's okay with me. There is somebody that sells eggs at my hubbys work so I don't want to step on toes there, so for now I am sticking to the preschool and see how that goes! My girls took a long time off for the winter but it's okay now because they are laying about 6-9 a day! Then I went and stepped on one trying not to irritate the little mean rooster. I was so mad at myself because I need 4 doz by the end of the week! Never going to happen! I have 7 now, would be 8 but my big feet!

Congratulation on selling your first eggs! I have found that word of mouth is the best thing! We charge $3.00 a dozen for our eggs and $2.75 if they return the egg carton to us. Don't be afraid to charge $2.00, they are more than worth it!
