i somehow acquired 2 runaways and i have questions. please help

THey're the smartest predators of all.They'll watch you more than the chickens to learn your character and habits so they know the safest time to come around.Glad you have a camera.Make sure your latches are child proof.I hope you have hw cloth and aprons!You have a pair with kits and a den nearby

we have a few cameras since someone tried breaking into our cars, my husband bought them the next day

i get up every time they come around and go out and make noise. i lose more sleep over those stupid foxes than anything else.

there are 2 staple and hasp? i think that's what they are called.. on the top and bottom of the door with carabiners on them, and a gate hook in the middle. and staple and hasps on both the nestbox and person (if you can call it that) doors on the coop.

double layer of hwc going up from the bottom about a metre, and one the rest of the way. apron too. i'd be out there before they could even try digging or anything, but it's less stressful knowing they can't get in anyway.

i am open to suggestions though, if i have missed something

Kits are born in late March to early April and hunt on their own by the time they're 6 months old.They could be scoping out your place because they consider it a safe place to hunt.Do you free range ?

i do free range, but i not when i am not home, or am not out there with them. they are not easy to get to go back in lately, so they are causing me grief. lol! i am neglecting a whole lot for them to be able to do that. the guy that these chickens ran away from has a big field behind his house and says the fox watches during the day. our house is in the middle of a whole lot of other houses, with a lot of people, kids and cars around, so they are less likely to be around here during the day, and more likely to be in his field. i wouldn't like for his chickens to be eaten either, but i don't know how he keeps them as he is set pretty far back and has a big gate so i can't see.

It would be nice if you had dog.They can pick up the scent of fox very easily.They have the faint scent similar to a skunk.

i can smell him!
i don't have a dog for a few reasons. (i love them, though) and certainly didn't plan on having chickens either. lol! there are dogs on either side of us, so the fox(es) are cutting through all of our yards. the neighbour dogs don't bark or anything when the fox is there.
even the yippy one who seems to yip at everything.

i cut that treat bar that louise was obsessed with in half and put both pieces in the run far away from each other to give them something to do while i go out today. is that a bad idea? do you think louise will try to keep thelma away from both?

also! i was wondering if anyone has ever given their chicken a stuffed animal friend, and is it helpful? i was thinking thelma might like that when louise is being prickly. or laying an egg. she seems to use the fake egg as security at night. when it's not in there, she climbs all over louise instead. and louise is not warm and fuzzy.
