So, the Reb Bourbons have claimed the tree next to our carport and our BBB's were despondent that they had nowhere to roost and would camp out at the base of the tree, croaking with jealousy and displeasure. Or something less anthropomorphic.

I added a limb to their pen about 18" off the ground and they took to it immediately. I've since put a split log laying flat next to it so they could use it as a step up; the little fatties might have trouble with jumping up and down later on (I can see a little

Two used the roost last night and the other three went in to the coop and jumped up on the hay bales.

You might be surprised just how hi9gh a broad breasted turkey can jump. I watched a 40 lb.+ (live weight) BBW tom jump 3 1/2' in the air to attack a dog's head.

It isn't getting up on the roosts that is the problem with BBs, it is the damage the landing can cause when they are getting down.
