LOL! I just did the same thing today. I already had 34 - 3½ week old chicks from TSC in the brooder, but I had to stop by TSC just because I was in the area. I might could've resisted, but they had SILKIES! I came home with 2 silkies and 4 other bantams. That brings my chick total to 40, plus my 12 adult pullets. Since these were younger I had to create a mini-brooder box inside my large brooder box just under the light (which I bumped back up in wattage) to protect the new babies from the 3½ weeks olds. I'm still blaming my 5yr old DS.

. I want to tell you that you should buy an incubator....that way you won't have to drive to the feed store to get the chicks. You can just sit at your computer and bid on hatching eggs (the Auction section is down near the bottom of the BYC forum's Index ) and have them delivered right to your house

You can also buy a 2nd and 3rd incubator, without ever leaving the comfort of you home

This is my next goal - to purchase an incubator. I'm actually planning on waiting until my current babies are old enough to be laying and hatching my own "surprise" bantams since I have a large variety.

OK, you all just stay away from my wife... she needs no help feeding her addiction...

...and NO, The 3 chicks *I* brought home monday just cause they were sooooooooo cute and just what my wife has been looking for don't count as an addiction.

I'm going to need to expand the coop & run soon... and I havent even finished it yet.... the sunroom in my house is starting to get crowded.
