I think I am going cry!i

Power started coming back on about 7:30 last night. It would come on for a few minutes then go off, then on, then off, then at 8:30 it came on for over 4 hours. Last night when I went to bed it had gone off again. I will wait and see if I have any development by day 7-8. Keeping my fingers crossed. I will be mightily surprised if I get even one chick out of this hatch. I mean considering 1. They are shipped 2. out of 30 eggs 2 broke 3. all but 2 out of 18 on the Golden Laced Cochins are really porous and chalky looking 4. With the Blue Orpingtons out of 12 eggs 6 are super tiny and one is a double yolker 5. They were incubating at proper temp for 16 hrs then the power went out and incubator temps dropped into the 60's for several hours. 6. When power came back on, it came on and went off several times, so eggs would heat up a little bit then start to cool down. This went on for a period of about 5 -6 hours. If any survive I am going to name them after super hero's!

We lost the power due to high winds yesterday. I just love the weather reports. It said the wind was going to be 13 miles per hour. I think they blew it! We were getting up to 90 mile an hour gusts! I now have to repair several places on the roof where the shingles are completely gone. It blew stuff that was sitting in the yard completely out of the yard. On my way to work yesterday I saw on of the big trash bins provided by the trash company flying over 8 ft high in the air. 13 miles an hour, really? I think what gets me is we are now for winds and always lose power when it happens. So why do I always get told by Edison "we are aware of the problem and need additional equipment and personnel to fix it". They should have a back up crew ready. it's not like this is a once every 5 year occurrence. It happens several times a year in our area.
