And yes, your cock and at least one hen must be carrying lavender. Of course a blue (Bl,bl) can also be lavender (lav,lav)--colour will be light blue but it will still have the darker head, hackle and on males saddle feathering.

All of my blue hens are very dark blue except for one, who is more of the ideal blue, but not as light as a lavender bird should be.

All the other chicks hatched in this batch are blue and a nice shade of blue it seems.
