I think I have a 2 legged predator

and they are targeting my silkies...

Ever since I lost 5 chickens in one week my flock has been under house arrest. meaning that they have the coop and run thats it no free ranging..

my 120 LB dog was walking on the top of my run so I know its secure

there is no signs of digging around the base of the run or coop

never any blood or remains found

no signs of damage in the run at all no bent wires nothing...

something has been smart enough to open the latch on my coop and re lock it when its done...

I wonder what sort of pest is that smart?.

Time for a pad lock on the coop.. you know i thought that once I was out in the country and away from the troubles of the city the stress would be gone but no...now I have a new stress...

personally I think its the guy up the road who sells his eggs for $4 a doz...and I sell for $2 because ever since my egg sales jumped through the roof to the point I have had to turn people away then my birds start to go missing... sounds funky to me

I think that Humans are Chickens #2 enemy right after Coons. Poor Silkies. Hope their alright.

Try putting signs around your land that say "Smile!!!! Your on Candy Camara"!!!! They won't know that you don't really have camaras.

my DH is a nerd... I love him but he is a nerd...

he is going to set up the motion sensors on the coop so that when they come on they will activate a series of web cams and record all the action

he loves to animate things, this is what he does at work and we have a spare lap top and a few web cams if i get any good video i will post for sure

Time to get out the back hoe. I had a two legged predator a while ago. Dug a BIG HOLE in front of the gate. Caught me that predator, lucky for hiom it was my neighbor that found him. The neighbor is a capt. on the Sherriffs dept. We found out later that the predator was a wanted man from back east. If it was me, I might have just filled in the hole. Would haved saved a long court trail and the tax payers the expense of feeding him for years.
