Ever since I lost 5 chickens in one week my flock has been under house arrest. meaning that they have the coop and run thats it no free ranging..
my 120 LB dog was walking on the top of my run so I know its secure
there is no signs of digging around the base of the run or coop
never any blood or remains found
no signs of damage in the run at all no bent wires nothing...
something has been smart enough to open the latch on my coop and re lock it when its done...
I wonder what sort of pest is that smart?.
Time for a pad lock on the coop.. you know i thought that once I was out in the country and away from the troubles of the city the stress would be gone but no...now I have a new stress...
personally I think its the guy up the road who sells his eggs for $4 a doz...and I sell for $2 because ever since my egg sales jumped through the roof to the point I have had to turn people away then my birds start to go missing... sounds funky to me
