I think I have a cockerel

I have a 12 week old barred rock, who I believe to be a cockerel. Would anyone like to try and confirm this from my attached photo? Thanks!

It doesn't carry itself like a cockerel. Head and neck usually align vertically with the legs in a straight line. Pullets don't have that vertical alignment. To be sure, look among the tail feathers for signs of curved sickle feathers shooting out.

I’m no expert but I think cockerel because of the colouring- a barred rock pullet should be slightly darker I think. Plus, our 12 w/o pullet has a much smaller comb than your bird

I’m mostly focused on the long, and pointed hackle feathers, and the massive waddle and comb. However, it’s the only barred rock in our tiny flock, so I have nothing to compare it to.

It does seem like a roo... but it’s got a pretty small comb & wattles. For comparison, this is our roo at about 10-12 weeks. You could never mistake him for a pullet .
