I think I have a roo. . .

There is nothing wrong with not keeping a rooster if you don't want one. They're not for everyone.

We can but my husband doesn't want a rooster. I'll try to rehome it first.

Is there a reason he doesn't want a rooster. Not all roo's are jerks.I would see if he is aggressive or not first.

I love the sound of a roo crowing!!
Only one Rooster will limit the crowing. When we had only one. It would be early morning most of the time anyway. Now that we have several, the crowing does not stop until the sun is gone!
As far as mean. They all are not as so. This big dude getting a neck message... IMG_20170620_200341.jpg
Is king of the roos. He is boss to chickens and other males but is a gentle giant to people. From socialising with him daily.
But roos aren't for everybody...
But enjoy them we do!

I wouldn't buy a no-crow collar. If you cant have a rooster dont have one.No crow collars bascially takes there pride away.

does it matter if you have the tamest, sweetest roo of all time? (To people AND chickens) even when family come over and they all walk over and pick him up, even though they are strangers to him, he's just snuggling up to them, occasionally leaning his head on their chest. He is the alpha roo in our coop, (even though he's really a cockrel, alpha roo sounds better) the only thing I don't absolutely love about him is that he crows a lot and really loudly, and I don't want any complaints from the neighbors, so if he didn't crow, we could keep him, which would be amazing!
