I think I just died of the cute.

Well only one of my baby quail hatched out of 10 viable eggs, it is now 2 days old, and loves to cuddle, loves when I whistle, and today it started peeping to the beats of the songs I listento... I never knew quail had such personality!

I would recommend the book "That Quail, Robert" by Margaret Stanger. It's a lovely story about a house quail.

So sad, was away from the brooder no more than five minutes, and... well yeah.

Oh that's horrible! I'm so sorry! I raised a roadrunner chick one year to adulthood. He was a cocky little guy, and one day in his adolescent glory he strutted too close to our dog and lost all his tail feathers! He made it, though, and learned his lesson. His feathers grew back in eventually. I'm so sorry that your baby didn't make it
