I think I may have mixed up the breed of two of my chicks - can someone confirm?

EEs can be a mix of so many different blue egg laying breeds they can all look very different. Many hatcheries sell them as Americana which is confusing. This is my Splash Ameraucana.

Very cool. Mine was definitely sold (apparently falsely) as an Ameraucana rather than Americana - I just double checked the McMurray website.

That’s disappointing
EEs are great birds though, just like mutts are great dogs (I’ve got 2 of them)! And you’ll still get beautiful eggs

Very true! I have no bias against mixed breeds and they are often very healthy. One of ours dogs is a mutt - a beagle/ Aussie/coonhound mix and she’s a great dog. (Of course, our Walker coonhound who we got at the same shelter is also a great dog.)
