I think you've got something other than a weasel visiting your trap. Can you call the trap manufacturer for advice about trapping weasels specifically?

If they are like ferrets, could you bury the trap leaving a small entrance hole to eliminate raccoons, opossums and skunks from access.

Does anyone know if weasels climb?
