I was given 2 adult black sex hens, and a roo. All about 6-8 years old according to the farmer. I carefully watched them in with my 16 silkies that are only 7 weeks old all day, they are doing fine. (so far).

I forgot all about food being different for adult chickens, will it hurt them to eat the medicated starter until I can get to the supplier for regular feed? Which will probably by Friday????

Yeah, I would have kept them separate for at least two weeks prior to putting them together. I found that out the hard way.

If the medicated chick starter has only amprolium in it there is no withdrawl time so you can eat eggs no problem. Else, extra protein won't hurt them.

Quarentine is a good idea too so you can watch for diseases and such.

I wish I had the set up here to sep. them for a couple weeks, however being new this summer to chickens, I only have accomodations to throw them together...I have my leather gloves and chopping block ready in case the new roo is a brute....the farmer that gave him to me is a friend, hopefully he wouldn't give me any diseased birds...Ive been getting eggs from him all year....

The only bad thing about giving grown chickens broiler feed is that the extra protein is unnecessary and it costs more!! When I move my chicks in with my layers I feed them both the broiler feed until the chicks are about 18 weeks old. It does cost more, but does not hurt the layers. There's just no way to seperate feed for the flock if all your birds are together.
