I JUST cleaned out my incubator after only having 2 hatch for me

... so i figured i need more practice with eggs that are not from my own hens, so i'm picking up a dozen eggs from 2 different farms this weekend! 24 more eggs on their way lol! It'll be interesting to see how many hatch from each batch, one place has more roosters than the other, and they said they're eggs in the bator right now are are very fertile... i've got a new addiction!!! (and hopefully 24 baby chicks that will be 2 weeks old on easter, and maybe i can find a bunch of people to buy easter chicks! LOL... i hope so, or i'm going to be in biiig trouble when i've got 2 dozen chicks running around...

what does everyone do with all these chicks??? do you find they are easy to sell/find homes for? That's what I'm worried about the most, I live in town where we technically aren't suppose to have chickens, lol. I have my 7 at my work, but I don't think they'd be happy if i suddenly showed up with 24 more!

don't know why...

Ummmm... I have been lucky enough to be able to give away a few pullets to other BYC friends, but that leaves me with the roosters. I am not willing to process any chicken for a meal. Love my roosters! Love my hens, too.

I have far too many. They sure are pretty, though, and personable and gosh, there are a lot of 'em.

I will be doing the same thing and hatching out as many as I can fit into the incubators , I live in the country people have been coming to me for chicks.

I have fun learning as much as I can about the incubation process. My kids love it and they are learning a lot from it as well.

I have 16 now and 26 are pipping , soon as they are out another 42 go in, I also have another incubator full of 46 eggs , after they come out another 46 will go in

I always manage to sell mine. The batch from today I sold before I removed them from the bator. They were my eggs so I sold them straight run for 1.50 each. 15 to the feed store and 20 to a woman from craigs list. The funny part is the woman wants more from my next hatch and any roos she want to give back to me!

This is my first hatch ( hatch 3/22) and i am addicted to looking at my eggs!! I got a great video of one moving today! so excited!
