I think I'm broody...

Yep, number three hatched a little before 6 this morning! I had another hatch in the Octagon last night as well so I'm up to 4!. I still only have one pip, and that one looks to be upside down in the shell.. Last time I had one of those the chick hatched (assisted) with her leg bent behind her, I had to hobble her and all is well now but man was that stressful. I took the 3 out and they're in the brooder box getting all nice and cozy. I think I'm going to have to help out this upside down one, looks like the membrane is starting to dry out. I spritzed some warm water in there and put a wet paper towel around this egg, hopefully that'll help out a little bit, but I've already chipped away a bit of the shell, no blood so far but I just don't want to stress the little guy out. He/she is still breathing and moving around, but it's been pipped for over 24 hours so I'm just starting to worry a bit.

No new pips either, soo we'll see how that plays out.

That's the only bad thing about those big ole cabinet incubators! Looks like you have to invest in one of those mirror things.

Mmmaddie - those pictures are adorable! How cute does it get?!! Good luck with the rest of the hatch. How do I get to your hatch-cam? I wanna watch them, too.

There's not a lot going on in that second incubator, I think the temperature is lower than it says it is... Oh well, they were growing good last time I checked so I guess they'll just hatch "on time" tomorrow. :)

The little ones that are out and about are doing well. :) Sleepin and they took a couple nibbles of their food and a couple sips of water. They're really little, aren't they! Oh I love 'em!

Thanks! I'll tune in when in a few minutes. Sorry I didn't see it in your signature. Lower temps can delay a hatch. My incubator has lower temps than the gauges say....:(

The upside down chick is out! he's been out for about an hour, so he's still pretty wobbly. :)

I think the majority of the rest of the ones to hatch are going to be pearl grey, that's what I was expecting, anyway, when I bought that batch of eggs, even though there are other colors.

I'm still a little disappointed at the second batch of eggs, I had two that I know for sure were alive at lockdown, and two questionables (but most likely dead), the rest didn't even start growing. And that was the batch that had the most colors, which I was super excited for. But I'll take healthy over color any day.

Ohhhh just tuned in and I see a wet keet in the mini brinsea, is that #5 for you??

This hatch cam stuff is cool, now I need you to teach me this trick, lol. And since we NEVER get hatch pics from JLeigh, she needs to figure out how to do this too, LOL.

Yep, this is number 5! Still no new pips on any of the other eggs, but technically day 28 is tomorrow, so I'm trying not to fret.

(Yeah, right)

Oh, it's super easy! All you need is internet and a webcam! Ustream.tv is free, you just set up an account, make a channel, plug your webcam in and set it up where you want it, and there you go! :) I thought it was going to be complicated, too, but it's almost too simple.

Actually, I'd love to figure out how to set up a hatch-cam. I'll put my husband on the. He'd LOVE that kind of project! I, on the other hand, wouldn't be able to figure it out in a bazillion years, lol.
