I think I'm dealing with a mink, need help please

Thank you all for your replies. I have been locking my chickens up in their coop when I am not home, and only letting them in their fully enclosed, but not mink proof, 10' x 40' run, when I can supervise. I have not allowed them to freerange at all. Too scared, especially since both previous kills happened smack dab in the middle of the day. We plan on getting supplies tomorrow to reinforce the fully enclosed run. I put a live trap out yesterday, nothing yet. I have tuna in there now, but I think I will go out and get some liver tomorrow, since that has been recommended more than once. Is it common for mink to attack in the middle of the day? Both attacks happened between 10am and 3pm

To tell you the truth, I doubt that it was either a mink or a weasel. If it had been either, you would most likely have had far more dead birds than one. Mink and weasels almost always kill as many as they possibly can. They don't usually eat much, just kill and fill up with all the blood they can drink.
