I think I'm getting the hang of this Chicken Math thing . . .

I raised two Barred Rock pullets for someone whose broody hen had rejected them (they were different from all of the yellow chicks she otherwise hatched out). Yesterday I gave them back to their owner AND I hatched out a single chick of my own (the other eggs were duds). Today I got two chicks to keep the singleton company. I don't think I have CM mastered yet, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Next year I'm getting ducks. If ducks have a similar kind of math, I'm sunk.

I did some work in the Whitty side of the coop yesterday. They are about 6 weeks old and needed more room. Well, I did a count in there and found I had 33 in there, all but a couple are hens. That brings the total to 44

Where did they all come from???????????????
