Sunday:
Me: "So.. remember when I said I was only going to need a small coop and run for the three Seramas and the quail?"
That Guy: ".. You got more chickens, didn't you?"
Me: "Weeelll..thebabycochinsaresocute!!! And I need another Serama or T'Oliver will be lonely ..and I still want a Silkie.."
That Guy: *sighs*
Me: "But it'll be really easy to make and portable, because I have this idea for pvc pipe..*rambles on about coop*"
That Guy: *grunts noncommittally*
Today:
That Guy: "Hose clamps. Locking hose clamps."
Me: ".. For.. what?"
That Guy: "The coop. A raccoon could bite through zip strips, and bolt and washer they could probably undo, so if we're going to attach the hardware cloth to the PVC in a way that's secure but removable, we'd be better off using locking hose clamps."
Me: ".. 'We'? Did you just say 'WE'?"
That Guy: "Well, yeah! If I'm gonna play with the babies and eat the eggs, the least I can do is help build the coop."
He's put up with my new bird addiction with grace, but it's still been mostly 'my' thing. Heh, colour me shocked.. He's been won over by the small cute fuzzy butts.
