I think I'm going to faint..

That conversation sounds SO familiar!
We now have 5 girls. He is building a small coop/run in the basement(for winter and maybe permanent housing)
And we are getting more this spring.
 
My husband, aka "The Electricity Nazi", has refuse to turn on the electric heater in the garage because it wasted too much power. Mind you, there are times we have to work out there because that is where we keep our large cutter, our folder, and do our bindery work. Oldest son and I have frozen our fingers off working on more than one occasion this winter.

Yesterday when I mentioned that the duck eggs were developing and that if I can get them to successfully hatch, I would need to build a brooder so the cats don't eat the babies, he said no way are we going to keep them in the house because he doesn't want to risk the cats getting a hold of them and "we can just turn on the space heater in the garage!".
