Does anyone have pictures of their welsummer chicks?
This is my 5 week old cutie pie. I really wanted a wellie hen because this is the only welsummer that I have. But the Welsummer roosters are stunning and I had planned to keep one roo, so I am hoping that this one is a boy.
He is sweet and not aggressive at all. But I am suspicious of the large comb and curled tail feathers. Still a bit too early to see the saddle feathers. But I believe someone said something about the males having dark chest like this one.
So does anybody know about welsummers?

Either way I think that this is a really pretty bird!

I don't have any welsummers, but still think your chick is a roo - it already has wattles at only 5 weeks.

That kind of comb on a five week old chick of any breed says roo to me.

I've seen some Leghorn pullets pull off that major comb but never on a Welsummer girl. Looks like a Roo, it's even got the stare!

Oh mi gosh, that looks exactly like my "Speckled Sussex" I got that is not. I am asking for a replacement. But anyway, wow, SOO good to know what she is! I do agree with you, yours looks like a roo.

Thanks everyone. Just wanted that second opinion to let me know that I was n the right track. Now I need come up with a more masculine name than Zinnia. All my girls are flower names.
No one has welsummer pictures to share with me? I'd especially like to see roosters pictures to see what my little guy will look like.
