Ok, if it is Coryza, Can I eat them or the ones ot showing signs of it. I have the State vet coming to test them. Could not find any Tylan 50 so I got Tylan 200. How much should I give them? Should I give a shot to evey chicken.... Do I have to change needles for every chicken...... I hope it is not but I guess I will find out in a week or two from Tuesday..

Can you fill out the information on the sticky at the top of the page so we can have more information and try to help?

The state vet would know. When mine had MG the state vet said they were fine to eat since MG is not zoonotic. I couldn't do it, though.

Coryza apparently has a very strong smell, like a dead animal, is that what you're experiencing?

No strong smell. I had one die about 2.5 weeks ago with the strong smell. Right now they just have the watery eyes, some crust under the nose, and the eyes are also shut on some. When I try to clean them, a thick custard type puss comes out.

Where are you located? Northern or Southern US. Poultry specialist at Iowa State Univ. told me that it is very rare in teh northern states. That is just what I was told.
You will know for sure if it's Coryza because you won't be able to stand the smell.

When you find out what the State Vet tells you can you please let us know, if they can my used for human consumption.

Sorry about you birds.

I have a similar issue here and just finding it hard to put them down since I am still getting eggs. They are in remission now. I know everything will have to be sterilized if I do put them down and I will have to wait to get more.......guess that's part of why its so hard also. I love my birds, and would miss them very much.
