Chicks hatched on wed and thurs. They are happy little brooder babies .. yet I obsess over

~ Are they eating and drinking enough?
~ Are they sleeping too much?
~ Is the brooder warm enough? Too warm?
~ Why don't they go in the little box house?
~ Why are they suddenly ALL int he little box house?
~ Is that poop too runny? hard? the wrong color?
~ Did I put too much vitamin in the water? Not enough?
~ Should I have every possible med in the cabinet "just in case"?
~ Why aren't they making noise?
~ Why are they making noise??

I guess I'm officiall obsessed, huh??

Good news is, I believe they are very normal, happy, healthy, thriving 3 and 4 day old chickes..

Someone gave me some really good advice when I was becoming too obsessed with what they were doing or not doing. "Just let them be chickens, and enjoy." And you know what? It was liberating! I find I worry less and enjoy more. It doesn't mean I am un-observant, but I don't panic over every little thing.

I totally understand.....I check on our babies all the time....after all We are their mother hen.......Smile, as long as you are enjoying it.....then that's fine....Don't forget to get a little break between mom henning.

Have a blessed day!

Yeah, It's not a compulsion or anything .. it's just an overall check on them, sit and watch them for a while .. and these questions pass through my mind .. LOL

I'm definitely enjoying them .. and am almost past worrying that they won't make it ..

I mean they are 3 and 4 days old .. it's all down hill from here, right??

Wait!! you forgot a few questions.... (mine hatched Wed and Thurs too)

How did they pull that up?
Where did they find that?
why is that one feathering out so fast?
Why are the rest showing no signs of feathers?
HOW did they knock THAT over?
How many heads can fit in the same feeder hole? (3 for the record here)
Why are they constantly trying to eat poo before it hits the floor?
Why don't they snuggle under the stuffy instead of leaning on it all stretched out?
Seriously, how loud can that one get?

LOL .. good ones .. I could related to a few of those .. (especially the feathering ones) ..
