Hi All!!
My girls are right at 3 months old and I think my 2 australorps are boys! I have searched through images and am having a hard time determining. I do know that they are very docile right now and are very intimidated by our older girls....but also heard the Australorp Roos will get very mean and testy!! Please Please help me out here and let me know what you think!!
Thanks a bunch!

The black one in the third picture that is pecking at the ground is a male and i think the white one in the front of the third picture is also a male.

Not sure my BA's kind of looked like roos before they started laying. I worried like you I ended up with roos instead of pullets. We ended up with all pullets in the end and bought a roo. He is now about 14 months old and the sweetest man. He has a flock of 17 hens and treats them all well and has never been nasty towards us or his girls. Now he doesn't care for our Golden Salmon Marans roo but I think that is typical, lol. Of all our roos my BA roo is my favorite!

That is awesome....my fingers crossed! It's so hard to tell at this age! I love my Australorps!! They are named Lucky and Paddy...got them on St Patricks Day....cheesy I know, but it fits them!! Thanks for the replies....I am praying they are hens as I am not suppose to have Roos...they aren't trying to crow yet, but that could be because there are no other Roosters within 5 miles of us! Anyway...thanks!

I had an Australorp roo who was very sweet! They do look like roos to me too......sorry. They may be sweet too though.

I'm seeing shiny, pointy saddle feathers on them... Both roos. Sorry.

Thanks for the "why". My chicks are only a week old so it is too soon to know if the sexing percentage was more accurate than the expected 90% (and we hope it was 100%!!). It helps when someone says "yes it is" or "no it isn't" AND tells the indicators.
