I think my chicken has a nail growing on its leg.....

Hi,
I just got home from camping, and when I went to see my chickens, one of them has a weird bump on its leg. I felt it and it feels like toenail material. Can chickens grow nails in their legs?

It is just above her thumb. She is acting normally eating and drinking just fine, and her poo is normal, so what could be wrong with her?! Please help! I am new to chickens so I am very nervous about her.

Any help can be useful!

If chicken is a rooster,could be his spurs growing.
 
here is a pic of the chicken and the bump:
It is the little bump above her thumb. It feels like a nail but the shape is really odd. Also I just discovered another of the same bumps growing on the other leg in the same spot! The next pic down is a pic of her. Does it look like a he? She doesn't have any roo tail feathers. Also I have seen her lay an egg! She does the chicken dance but that is it!
