I think my chicken is getting picked on.

hi everyone,
my chicken has some peck marks on her comb and I have seen the other chicken peck on her. what can I do to distract them. I'm going to put some branches in there run and maybe get and extra feeder and a seed block. does that sound good. And there is also plenty of room for all of them. Thanks

Chickens have a pecking order that would seem very troublesome for humans, but yeah having more distractions would help

they are not pulling out feathers, but i gave them some kale and the other one tried to get some and the other one pecked on so hard she made a noise.

The pecking order, though normal for chickens, is difficult to witness at times. My 5 girls have full run of a backyard and 6 (six!) food dishes. I still see pecking order issues, especially pecked combs. Extra places to roost has helped my girls. Adding the extra food dishes allows for them to eat without being picked on as much. I still have one hen who wants to chase away two of the other hens when they are eating. Even when she has her own dish, she goes to the other girls to chase them off to eat from their bowls. It turns into a little game with musical food dishes.

Their arms were as useless as chicken wings as far as pecking order goes, they usually settle it with beaks and shanks

Yeah, I see one of my hens (low hen of the three originals) pecking the chicks more than the other two hens do. "Aha!" she says to herself, "someone lower than me!" peckpeckpeck.

Thanks everyone I think it is just pecking order cause a few other chickens have some marks on there comb as well.

I added a branch, an extra food dish, some veggie scraps, and some scratch.
