I think my flock has cocci

Okay, so lately I have noticed blood in their poop. And I've had birds fall over dead, some are perfectly fine, some are sick for awhile.
Now knowing it is a big deal I switched them over to medicated feed to help keep those who don't have it healthy. But is there anything I could use with just like stuff I have around the house to help get rid of it? I've read about the milk cleanse, but does it work? My mom being the adult thinks that giving them some Kefir and medicated feed will fix it and wants me to use stuff we have.

The flock ranges from a week olds to around 6 week olds, then I have 5 six month old pullets that I want to make sure are fine.
And I will be getting some more chicks Monday/Tuesday.

Help?

Coccidia is so easily fixed with Corid, that I wouldn't waste time with trying to use natural remedies. And while you are medicating them, you should also worm them with a quality wormer. Chickens suddenly dropping dead is symptomatic of worms.

Did you look for the Corid or ask? It is usually in the cattle section of the store. Maybe they have it in another brand. It is amprolium.

If you tell them you are looking for medicine for your chickens, sometimes they will not even LOOK in the cattle section for the medication you asked about.

The same with Wormers, If you ask for a chicken wormer, they will find you Wazine, which only gets roundworms. You will need a sheep or horse wormer to get all the worms.

Relax on the dewormer until Monday. Cocci can kill very quickly. Look intot how cocci kills and try to treat until the cocci medication gets it under control.

How are birds kept that might setup for more aggressive outbreak?
