Is this fowl pox? What can I do for treatment?

Hi everyone! Is this fowl pox on my rooster? I’ve noticed some little white bumps or scabs. I’m scared. He’s acting completely normal, eating and drinking. I added some poultry cell into their water, just to boost their immune system. I don’t want to touch the scabs, but what else can I do to ensure they are okay?

It could be. I honestly can’t say, since I have not seen it before on that kind of comb. Does he have any scabs on his wattles or earlobes? Is he part silkie? Do you have a lot of mosquitoes out now? If it is fowl pox, it is a virus spread by mosquitoes that lasts about 3 weeks, and most recover unless they develop yellow lesions inside the beak called wet pox.

He is a silkie rooster! As of now, he does not have scabs on his earlobes or wattles. The past three days, I have noticed these white scabs, but I was not sure since all the pictures online do not show silkies with fowl pox.

Yes we have a lot of mosquitoes out right now, thats why I think it is possible as well. I am hoping it clears up! Should I be checking inside his beak everyday?

I would leave him alone unless he is not eating or drinking. If he is pretty docile when handled you could check it. Silkies can also get favus or fungal infections on their combs, and it looks a bit different from favus on other breeds. Do you have another rooster who might have pecked his comb?

He is very docile and lets me pick him up whenever, so I might check him throughout the week to make sure he doesn’t have any scabs inside his mouth. I do have another rooster, but he hangs out with the other hens throughout the day. They all are inside the coop to sleep, but they do not fight or peck at each other at night, they all actually get along quite nicely
