two year old cream-legbar
had her since she hatched.
free range during the day and in coop at night
layer feed, oyster shells, sometimes they get a few little pieces of bread if a kid comes over.
first few weeks when she first starting laying the eggs were soft but then were normal for about a year then on and off again soft eggs.
last month she laid a few soft eggs in a row and was looking sickly, but then she looked fine the following day after laying again.
now its been three days at least she hasnt laid, she does go in the nest box and her favorite place in the flowers but nothing.
she doesnt want to eat but drinks.
she is losing balance and cant fly up to the roost due to lack of eating/starving.
i managed to get her to eat some bird seed and yogurt(she loves since its liquid), trying oatmeal that is liquid, nutri drench, fish oil capsule once a day, started her on nufor antibiotic sq 1x a day since i was desperate(i have goats) and thought maybe she has a bacteria infection. (3rd day today)
no lice that i can see.
any suggestions?

If you think she has an egg stuff and broken inside her you could try sticking your finger up her butt to see if you can feel anything . I know it sounds gross but it works works:)

What do you feed, & how often are treats given out?

the three hens get layer feed, whatever is on sale at the feed store, but not payback as i had bad luck with that one. usually nutrena, purina. bread treats are maybe once a month or if i have to get them back in the coop during the day, they are fed twice a day whatever they can finish so the rats dont eat it.
they do have dirty feathers in the rear, most of them always have. one of the hens gets it worse. i did deworm them this pass winter with ivermectrin no change.

im getting my mom to give her a warm batch to see if it will relax her a bit since it finally got warmer outside.

Any oyster shells on the side for extra calcium?

yes but they seldom eat it, also gave dried egg shell on occasion. the two other hens have no problem laying.

she hated the bath and tired herself out, nothing came out. managed to use a syringe and feed her yogurt mixed with a bit of ground chicken food and of course nutridrench.
is 1x a day for nuflor good for chickens? it seems i am hardly injecting any (and takes forever to find any extra skin)but she may be a 2 pound bird. anything else i can do?
she is very mad at me so that is a good sign. when i put some food in her mouth she has no problem swallowing it since its very liquid. but i work 12 hour shifts so only can feed her 1-2x a day.

Lice are always tricky. Try putting water on her pellet food so it can soften up and see if she eats it so she can get stronger. Maybe even give a vitamin E so she can stand up better. Does she do solid normal poops or small liquidy ones

thank you all, she died yesterday, was doing ok with antibiotics (would run from me)but as soon as i stopped she started to decline. im sure if she got over this she would of done it again. so sad she was a good little hen. now im down to two hens, one of which has a hernia.
