My hen who is a few months shy of 2 years old, might have wry neck. About a week ago I noticed she was walking slower with her neck drawn into her chest. She also cant keep her balance if her wings are outstretched. She looks all puffed up and she wont outstretch her neck to eat or drink, as it seems she can only lean down to do either. I have tried giving her some vitamins since yesterday by feeding her some food with nutridench on it. I put it in her water also. It's too early to see any improvement in either case, but I am curious if this sounds like wry neck and if I am doing the right thing? Thank you!

Welcome To BYC

Can you please post photos of your hen and her poop?

Check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight.
When was her last egg?

If you feel it's the symptom Wry Neck, then you can try vitamin therapy to see if it helps.
Give her 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily along with a little egg for the uptake of E. Just pull down on her wattles and pop the vitamin into her beak and let her swallow.

Nutri-Drench is great for a quick pick me up, but it doesn't contain enough E for treating Wry Neck.
