I think my new Kitten is deaf?

We had a cat (not white) for two years before we realized she was deaf, don't know how we missed it, she was a great cat, and actually a pretty good hunter, birds were her specialty.

I also had a white cat that was deaf (not blue eyed), he was the sweetest cat w/ no fear of anyone or anything, thought they were all his best friend, I got him from someone that found him being carried around by a dog, they also got his white sister (she had some blue in her eyes) that was not deaf (and not as sweet as he was). Sadly his overly lovey temperment is what got him killed, he got out and I didn't know it, it was a few hours later that I started missing him and found him mauled by dogs.

On the sign language, I would guess they can learn anything a hearing cat would, the white boy I had I taught to jump to me when I patted my chest.
