In other words the peahen didn't commit suicide. She was really a peacock and was murdered by one or the other peacocks. Birds seems to be as violent as some humans.

at any rate, I am really sorry you lost a bird. Sometimes I feel the males (chickens, ducks, peafowl)should only be allowed brief conjugal visits.

Thanks. My 'peahens' were Ruth and Naomi... since Naomi is no more I guess Ruth is now Rutherford.

Dont worry about the name change, we all have our mistakes for instance, we have "Richard the hen" and "Tinkerbell the rooster". Everyone gets it wrong sometimes, I totally get it,
