Whoa Mandee! The egg on the left is a typical egg laid by Mandee, one of my serama hens. She hasn't laid in 3 days and today I find this whopper on the right! Anyone else had a double yolker laid by a serama? I hate cracking these. I want them all in my bator! But if there's a chance that it's a DY, I don't want to go there. Do ya think?

It's not quite the size of a bantam egg. I tried candling it to see if I could tell but really I can't. I may bring myself to crack it to see. In all actuality it may not be fertile since she's been away from the roo that she was with for a couple of weeks now and I'm not sure if my boy and she are fully married yet.

I've never eaten a serama egg! I think I'll go fry it up just to see.

We have an EE that lays a dinosaur egg once a week...I have NO idea how the girl gets this thing out. It won't fit into the JUMBO cartons. Oddly enough, none of these eggs has ever been a DY. This week she laid 2 of these dinosaur eggs...will try to get photos...it's freaky.
