I think my white chinese goose went broody!!

I had a chinese that went broody last year but I didn't want her to be broody! I could not get her to snap out of it. She lost quite a bit of weight just sitting on various eggs if I didn't get to them first. I put one duck egg under her and a few chicken eggs but her buddies crushed most of them because they were kind of in a higher traffic area. Now I have 5 geese a laying and I get those eggs away from them as quick as I can!

But anyway, I put a few more eggs in the nest, since I think she was just on again/off again sitting, so hopefully she thinks she has a full nest and will stay on it.


I was out there and SAW my Buff LAYING HER EGG!
I picked it up and it still had bloom on it. It was warm...

Ducks and geese are totally awesome.

It seems every time I go out, there's more ducks in with her!

I'm going to leave her alone for a while, to see if she'll get down to business.

Well, she's about as broody as a rooster now.

I took her out of her secluded pen, because the ducks were 'hopping the fence' to get to her.

Now she's just one of the gang again.



If she had had a mate do you think he would have hissed and scared them off?
