I think our coop is too big. Ideas?

Hot moist air from them breathing. Not necessarily the kind of heat you want.
Hot warm moist air doesn't heat my bed at night. My coop is well ventilated. If I had hot moist air in my coop at -9F I think I would see frostbite. I don't.

If animals, and we are in the animal kingdom, don't generate heat why do experts recommend putting cold hands ( i.e military etc) under your arm pits or in your groin?

LOL That probably belongs in the “not worth arguing about” category but you’re right of course. We all lose body heat to the atmosphere when the atmosphere is cooler than we are, but we do lose it more slowly if we’re well-insulated like chickens are.

So when I have my down coat on where should I put my cold hands?
