I bought a batch of female silver laced wyandotte chicks from a farmers market store in April. Two have started growing blue hued tail feathers, where two have pointed ends to them. What I want to know is are the tail feathers for sure boys but no sign of spurs yet or is it still too early for a for sure.

When you bought them, were they feathered or still in down? I thought pullets preparing to lay until I reread you got them in April as chicks ... I'm not seeing any hackle nor saddle feathering, no sickle tail feathering but the RED comb/wattle got me stumped.

Without a doubt both are cockerals sorry.

Are you sure they were supposed to be sexed? I know when my local feed store(TSC- not farm and fleet) get sleep I believe they have always been straight run.

Sleep make gorgeous roosters but I have had one aggressive one over the years.

How many chicks did you buy? I'm seeing both hackle and saddle feathers coming in on the bird top photo. Although his tail is tucked because he is balancing.

They were supposed to be sexed is what we were told. But we have 32 in total of all kinds of breeds so if these two end up being male I'm not too upset. They are both still very docile so far so hopefully they stay that way

They were still in down. They are only 9-10 weeks old by my count
