I didn't know if I should put this in Behaviors and egg laying or here..
anyway my silkie hen (and yes I know silkies are "poor" layers but..) hasn't layed in like 5 days so I felt her abdomen and I felt what felt like and egg. I tried to like massage it out but I accidentally broke it, it was kind of delicate. Will this hurt her? I didn't see anything coming out..Should I see eggshell and yolk coming out?

Here are directions how to treat a hen if an egg has broken inside her. If you don't flush it out, it can become infected. Good luck to you and your hen.

There's an excellent chance that infection will set in since the egg has broken inside her. In addition to the vinegar/water flush, consider giving her baytril, a powerful antibiotic. Dosage depends on weight and strength of the type of baytril you purchase. If you decide to do this, ensure she is given probiotics to eat after dosing with baytril. Good luck.

Absolutely! But there's still that issue with the broken egg inside her possibly causing bacteria to get out of control. At the very least, use the water vinegar flush.

Use white vinegar. Yes baster should work just as well...slow and easy and you dont have to put it in too far. Gently squeeze the bulb, you dont want to blast it in there, could harm her in some manner...all you want is a gentle flush.

I did it and she shot watery poop at me lol. Before I did it though I did notice a slight trace of what looked like dried egg yolk on her vent. So I guess thats a good sign because it would mean its coming out i guess. Thanks for the help.

You might consider flushing her again, just to be on the safe side. Keep an eye on her as well. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, try and get some baytril to give her.
