Later today I'll have a nice lady comming to pick up some chicks from my first hatch. The chicks tend to hang around the chicks that where taken out of the incubator at the same time as that one. I have a little ? chick and she's been hanging with her fellow ?'s sense hatching. I'm not shure what breed and my camra is messing up. Anyway she is in the "give away" brooder because the lady is very nice and got me started on chickens. I figured "what would it look like if I kept all the pretty chicks for myself" So I popped her and her other ? sister into the "give away"s. She is NOT happy. She must have had a certan chick that she grew attached to. But I can't figure out which one

If I could I would 1) give her AND her buddie away to the same person or 2) keep her and replace her with another. She won't stop chirpping. Like really loud. I'm scared the nabors may call animal control on me, she's chirpping that loud.

She's never done this before.
Two questons:
1) Has any of your chicks ever done this if so why and how did you fix it
2) Will she out grow it? I don't want to curse the lady with a screaming chicken

Thanks, -Holly

Yes, this has happen to me before. I usually put another chick from the group in with it and they will settle down. I assume after a while it will start to bond with the other chicks it is with. It's hard to listen too though, breaks your heart.

interesting thing is that one of the chicks from her little "group" is in there with her. Hoping she'll just settle down.
