Pepper is a pullet.
I have a hen who I was sure was a rooster. She got red very early and had a huge comb and wattles. She's now my best egg layer.

I am happy beyond words.
I didn’t want to love this bird, because I thought she was male, and she would have to go.
Now I’m really accepting how attached I am to my birds.
