I Think the Weather is Playing With Us.

It had stopped for a little bit, but now we are getting a bad thunderstorm. Hope the power doesn't go out again!!!

We had 5 minutes of rain yesterday. My 35 gallon garbage cans are about 75% ful of water.Finally some free water for the plants. I was mowing the grass a few days ago,and kept thinking to myself," This is so stupid.Why am I out here mowing my brown,practically dead lawn?" What I was really mowing were the weeds IN the lawn that are doing awesome in this dry/hot weather.

I am getting ready to start some more seeds. I have a feeling I will be able to grow veggies well into fall.If I get a greenhouse then maybe even some kale in the winter!

Drought here in South Central Ohio. It rained hard for about 5 minutes yesterday. It is so dry that the water just dissapeared.. No puddles, nothing. i was so glad to see it I ran out and got soaked. The lightning forced me inside very quickly. No lawn, just weeds. My pump quit two days ago because I watered the few veggies I have left. It refilled after about 15 minutes and we could reset it. Old timers around here say they can't remember weather this weird. A tornado ripped through our area two weeks ago and did major damage to the town of Cambridge. We lost alot of huge trees and our gazebo. I'll never complain about rain ruining a BBQ again.

We had brief down pour about two days ago. It felt good but we really need MORE rain. grass was getting brown and the only thing green was our garden and the weird weeds sticking out.

I noticed the wild animals are looking for water and food. Rabbits ended up eating my day old bread I had out for the wild birds. Times are desperate for them too.

Been noticing more and more wild animals are out and getting killed in such high rates. Even more feral cats are getting run over as well.

Last year we had the worst drought in recorded history here in Texas. While others were being flooded. This year, Guess what? We're being inundated with rain every day, while you guys are all in a drought. Guess all those prayers for rain last year finally got answered. Note to self: Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.
