I think this Cochin is a roo...

...but do you think otherwise?

We have a group of chicks that are approximately at least 12 weeks old. I can tell definitely that some are roos, but this one is a mystery...

Meet Blueberry. S/he is a blue Cochin bantam, at least I think so. I know for sure s/he is a bantam.

So, what do you think? Is s/he just a late bloomer cockerel, or a more masculine hen? I'm leaning toward roo, but I'm not sure.
 
I vote hen. I don't see any shiny hackle or saddle feathers. Cochins do develop slowly, though.

Okay... that's three votes for pullet, two for roo. Apparently Cochins are tricky.

Make that four! I'm guessing Blueberry is a pullet...

As I was going out tonight I spotted Clara (the black pullet) and Blueberry all nestled up together in the grass. It was adorable!
