I've been where you are. We rescued our goslings from a horrid situation like that. Barb S (from here) and I went out thinking we were going to see a nicely run larger farm. Nope. Tiny pens PACKED with critters, from guineas (one pen had at LEAST 40 in it, and was roughly an 8x8 pen) to ducks, geese, and turkeys. He had one larger (yea, about 16x16 maybe so still not big) CRAMMED with over 100 chickens, about 50 ducks, and brand new ducklings nearly getting trampled. There was no food, no or very little shelter, no escape from the intense heat. Each pen had a metal coffee can as a waterer and they were either empty, nearly empty, really gross, or (like in one pen) had dead or dieing things (birds, mice) floating in them.
I too, felt I should have saved more, but we have limited space too, so I could only take home the 4 goslings. Barb S felt so bad for one of the grown ganders locked in a pen about 6x6 with three other grown ganders that looked so mangy and ragged, that she took him home. His name is now Gus, and he is absolutely handsome now.
We can't save them all, but we can make a dent. Call your local SPCA pr animal control and see if they can't do something. In the meantime, post here what he has and maybe other memebrs in your area can help by saving a few too.
