I have an 11 month old Partridge colored Silkie, and until this week she has pretty much been a 3 or 4 eggs a week chicken. My Girl "Doris has given me an egg everyday for the last 6 days. Is this uncommon for a silkie? I thought they slowed down during winter. She has turned into an "Egg laying Machine". My son say's she is my Winter Chicken! Has anyone had this non-problem before? What's the the record for the most eggs in a row by a Silkie? Just curious.

Lucky you congrat's on a good laying silkie

I don't keep track of individual Silkies' laying abilities, but my Silkies lay well too. Frankly, over the years I've owned Silkies, I've come to expect good laying performance from them. Silkies can be a good utility breed, if a person wants to view them from that perspective.
