I thought button quail were only 16 days to hatch??

I did the same thing you did this morning with my button quail eggs, day 22 and nothing so i squeezed on it and saw blood, it was to badly cracked to put back in the bator, so I opened it more and say the start of some feathers then the thing popped out and all I saw was yolk and something beating like a heart...i was so sick that I had done this, but I also thought they took like 15-16 days. So I left the others in and am waiting another several days. The bator had several fluctuations in temp so maybe that is why the delay. a few days it even dropped as low as 96 for a couple hours.

Well, last night before bed I checked on that remaining one BQ egg. I put it to my ear and heard a rythmic tap tap tap...this morning I got up to find the tinyest thing I ever saw that was alive and actually liked (not like a big!)...so cute, but I think it is going to be lonely. I am searching for someone that may have day olds or even a few days old so I can buy some to keep it company!
And that darn little egg took 23 days to hatch!!!

Mine took between 16 to 20 days for all of them to hatch. And if you opened one and the little guy was moving just put him in the incubator, and he would probably make it, mine did when I opened an egg I thought wasn't good. Now I got buttons, buttons, and more buttons!!! Eggs, eggs, and more eggs.
