I just took some close up photos so you can see the feathers and comb a bit better.

This chicken got its neck stuck in the auto coop door and then caught a cold, and its growth noticeably slowed but it seems to be picking back up now. That happened probably a month and a half ago. Hence its small size. It was always the smallest of the five, too.

He looks like he has a modified pea comb, definitely has some male saddle feathers and the coloring. I think they were wrong about his age, and what he was when they sold him to you....
I believe he's a mixed breed something. Who knows what. Maybe olive egger, but I don't think he has marans in him... I think he's just a mixed up pup.
