I thought I had heard all the bad stories about shipped eggs

But this takes the prize for the all-time worst shipper on the planet: Harlequin Quail eggs shipped in an envelope. My friend is now looking for quail eggs again.

Wow, that is sad! I thought mine were bad. I had 30 eggs in styrofoam egg cartons that were then put in a flat rate box, the SAME size as the styrofoam egg cartons. No wiggle room, no padding besides the styrofoam carton, nothing. The poor eggs are not doing well in the incubator, I think they were overly jostled during shipping since there wasn't any padding. I have had some great luck with shipping though, nice big boxes with bubble-wrapped eggs that are then cushioned in bedding or padding of some sort. Any bumps/shocks/etc. are absorbed nicely by the packaging and the air sac does better.
