So I had a 4 degree difference between my bulb and electronic thermometers. Thought maybe the electronic was to blame. I bought another electronic, different brand, and it matches *exactly* what the original electronic thermometer says.

I guess the bulb one that came with my hovabator is wrong!? Everyone/everything I have seen says the bulb is the reliable one.

Thoughts?

Stick the bulb one in a glass full of ice water. It should read 34 degrees after a couple minutes, if it doesn't you know its wrong.
Stick the electronic probe in a baggie and put that in ice water and it should read the same.

The bulb one doesn't go below 70 degrees (it's the one that came with the bator), but the two electronic ones I can test that way.

You can compare thermometers to a digital fever thermometer . I have found the digital fever thermometer to be fairly accurate or close enough for incubation. Heat an insulated cup of water ( fever thermometers won't register low temps) and compare temps.
