Can anyone help me sex my 12week old bantam chickens please as im hearing strange noises coming from the coop at 5am thanks in advance
I can't really see in the pics, maybe someone with more experience can tell from them though. What I look for is the shape of the tips of the neck feathers where they meet the shoulders. Roo will have pointed tips, pullets will be rounded. Same with what I call tail coverts, the feathers that kind of part and go down either side of where the tail sticks up. Tips on those will be similar to neck feathers. You may have to compare all yours to find if one is noticeably different. I'm gonna take a wild stab and say that pretty bluegray with the dark head is a hen. It will be interesting to hear how they turn out!
All are cockerels except for the blue one. Pullets don't start to turn red in the comb until they are close to laying age, usually around 14 to 18 weeks old.
