I threw that dadblasted chicken in the garbage! *Warning PIC heavy*

That is soooooo funny. i was a little worried after reading your header that i was going to find some scary pictures. But those are just priceless pictures.

You know, my girls seem to want to put stuff on their backs when they lay. i watch them picking up pieces of straw and putting them on their backs. So that plastic bag must have felt good to your girl.

i've been worried lately as our temps are dropping into the 40's at night. i guess that isn't anything compared to snow on the ground.

airheart, I wouldn't worry even about mine at 40. They seemed to be able to handle it til it dipped in the teens, and I keep mine in at night, so they have a harder time adjusting to the cold. I wont put them out again until its over 28 or so, they did ok with that. I should have only let them out for a couple hours that day, but it was FORECAST to warm to 35, and the actual high was 22.

And I went off to work, not realizing. Their feet arent bad, but I dont think I would wanna risk them getting worse with our temps. We havent been over 28 for over a week now.

NORMAL chickens could handle colder than that, but..mine ARE spoiled!

Yup, Cyn, I thought you would think Lily with that header!

She tickles me how she RUNS from place to place. My girls that are now big, they would lay down by the front door after they had been out awhile. NOT Lily, she is like a hyperactive child.

Those pics were adorable. I have a question tho, what is that you have covered on their coop/run? Does that help keep em warm? I have heavy duty plastic wrapped around mine, but yours looks more sturdy.
